Because of COVID-19, The Chicago Arabic Music Ensemble, Middle Eastern Dance Presentations, and Raices Gitanas Flamenco Ensemble are on hiatus until next year. However, we are taking bookings for spring and summer in hope that the situation will improve, or that we can perform outside.
IN THE MEANTIME!
I am available to do Zoom presentations for colleges, libraries, and other cultural venues on Marimba, Vibraphone, Latin Percussion, and Arabic drumming. These presentation include preparatory materials, Keynote graphics, live performance, short video examples, and followup resources.
I am also teaching drumset, marimba, vibraphone, orchestral percussion, congas, batá, Arabic drumming, and bodhrán, both over Zoom and in my socially-spaced, well-ventilated Oak Park studio. I have good written teaching materials as well as instructional videos and play-along audios posted on this site. Feel free to explore the Audio/Video page and use the resources there to practice congas and batá drums.
If you are interested in taking lessons or booking a Zoom presentation please contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also publish marimba works, as well as drumset and Latin percussion method books that are available through Steve Weiss Music.
So feel free to browse!
